The Enterprise programme aims to reduce underachievement and improve educational outcomes to help address the skills gap and prepare young people for the world of work. It also increases awareness and understanding of enterprise and entrepreneurship, and develops the life skills young people need as they transition from education to employment.
As part of the Enterprise programme, the national Premier League Enterprise Challenge gives young people of secondary school age the opportunity to work with their local professional football club on an actual football business challenge, which is set by Premier League Executive Chairman, Richard Scudamore.
Premier League Enterprise is joint-funded by the Premier League and Sport Relief and uses the backdrop of professional football clubs' business models to deliver enterprise education to inspire young people and increase their aspirations and skills. The programme has been running since 2008.
