Reds return to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for their annual Christmas visit

The Reds made a welcomed return to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital this week to attend a special Christmas party for patients and their families.

Mohammed Salah, Joel Matip, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Fabio Carvalho and Kostas Tsimikas visited the hospital’s Institute in the Park building to surprise the youngsters and help to spread some festive cheer.

The players met with almost 50 invited Alder Hey patients and their families, gifted bags filled with LFC presents, spent time playing fun party games, posing for images, singing and signing autographs.

For the past two years the Reds’ Christmas visits have taken place virtually due to ongoing restrictions in place at the hospital which prohibited in person visits following the Covid-19 pandemic Curtis Jones said: “We’ve been away for the past two years because of covid but we are back now and it’s only right that we come here and give back. We appreciate the staff and are so grateful for all they do.”

Mohammed Salah added: “It’s important to show the kids and the community that you always want to help them and make them smile. It’s something that makes me happy as well.”

The Reds were also joined by players from Everton Football Club, who joined in with joint competitive festive games and ensured that all the blue fans had the best time at the party.
