Andy, a local author and lifelong LFC fan, was nominated by our fundraising manager Rachel Bates. This was in recognition of his pledge to donate 100% of the profits from his newly released book, Liverpool Football Programmes: The Definitive Collector's Guide, to The LFC Foundation.
Rachel said: “Nothing like this has ever been achieved before for any football club. It has taken Andy five years to create this book on Liverpool FC and his profits from the book will help us fund our community programmes. Andy has learned a lot about the history of LFC and wants to make a difference to the community.”
Andy: "I’m delighted to be awarded the LFC Foundation Champion of the Month for January. The book was a five-year labour of love and my goal at the start was to give something back through its sales. I would like to thank everyone that has purchased the book. Every penny of the profits will go to benefit those in the Liverpool region from projects led by the Foundation. In this way, the book will support two key areas that are important to me and the community: giving young people a chance of a better future and providing support to those affected by dementia".
This book features all of LFC’s matchday programmes from the 1945/46 season till the end of 2019/20 season, covering close to 5,000 matches with over 6,500 images.
The book is available to buy now from Amazon and selected bookstores in Liverpool & St Helens.
We would like to thank Andy once again for his support.
