North Liverpool Academy students pledge to reduce plastic waste

As part of the LFC Foundation’s #iWill programme, pupils from North Liverpool Academy Secondary School engaged in a ‘kids against plastic’ campaign, after creating their very own #iWill pledge that focused on reducing pollution and harmful environmental activities at school.

Within the LFC Foundation’s classroom session, groups of youngsters set about creating displays to showcase around the school with aims of inspiring fellow colleagues to think about the environment when making individual decisions such as; don’t drop litter, recycle water bottles and use more reusable items.

As part of their pledge, pupils agreed to arrange a litter pick around the school whilst also writing a formal class letter to NLA’s headteacher requesting the purchase of new recycle bins, to be placed around the school.

This is just an example of what the LFC Foundation’s #iWill team get up to at 9 primary and secondary schools and after school youth community projects across Merseyside everyday!

Alex Jones, #iWill Project Lead said, "We’re immensely proud that children and young people are standing up, taking ownership and making the right steps to create a long term sustainable, positive impact for their communities."
