New Horizons for Football College

New Horizons for Football College

LFC Foundation’s education partner, SALT, has decided to move in a new direction and from next month will run the LFC Foundation College independently of the charity.

From today, SALT will no longer operate under the banner of the LFC Foundation College and instead will rebrand to the IFFDC Liverpool Football College.

The LFC Foundation first collaborated with SALT in 2012 to enable SALT to harness the power of the Foundation brand and expand on its delivery of qualifications and football training at its site in South Liverpool.

Both current and prospective students due to start at the college in September 2017 will experience no changes to the qualifications and training or teaching staff.

The college’s focus will remain on its highly successful academic and coaching programme, which will continue to be delivered at its base at Wyncote Sports Ground in Allerton.

SALT Directors and college co-founders, David Rowe and David MacDiarmid said: "When we set out on our journey back in 2012, we didn't realise that our programmes and the college would be such a resounding success.

“The past five years have been amazing. We have changed the landscape of college football in Merseyside for young players giving them the best experience outside of professional clubs' academies, which is something we are extremely proud of and hope to continue to build on. We have won national and international competitions giving students pathways to progress, some have become full time professional footballers.

“We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the LFC Foundation for its support and commitment to our mutual aim of providing academic and sporting opportunities to a large number of young people.”

Head of Education at the College, Carl Giles said,”2016/17 has seen academic results improve at all levels at the College. Retention and achievement data have contributed to a success rate of 92.27%, well above national average. The college remains in the upper quartile of 16-19 establishments across the country.

Andrea Cooper, Head of LFC Foundation, said: “On behalf of the LFC Foundation I would like to thank SALT for its dedication and commitment to providing opportunities for young people to gain valuable academic qualifications and improved life skills. I’m certain under their continued leadership the college will continue to grow and prosper.”

“We wish them every success with their future ventures.”

Enrolment at the College starts on Thursday 24th August 2017 at Wyncote Sport Ground, L18 6HF. For more information please contact davidj@iffdclfc.world. You can apply online via website www.iffdclfc.world
